::BIO::

John was born in Illinois to Ray and Marcie Dachik. John has an older brother, Carey, and a younger brother, Kyle. After a few years, the family moved to Baraboo, Wisconsin. Over the years John found his love of music,in particular folk music artists Phil Ochs and Simon & Garfunkel. After playing many open mics and entertaining friends, John had the opportunity to perform at the Al Ringling theatre in Baraboo-all profits he donated directly to Al Ringling. It was at this concert that he made his first cd. He has since then recorded several cds with both covers and originals. John is currently studying at UW Oshkosh in the field of televison broadcasting/editing. While in Oshkosh, he performed at a number of open mics. At one open mic, John played everything from songs he has written, covers of Phil Ochs, Simon & Garfunkel and even Britney Spear's "Hit Me Baby One More Time"! Though a bit nervous to perform the Spear's tune, he had friends there to encourage him as well as a great surprise for the friendly crowd. John is a genuine guy who has hopes and dreams of becoming a professional singer/songwriter. John has a sense of humor that is all his own, cracking jokes and quickly adding "I find myself funnier than anyone else". He's also a man who calls his guitar his bestfriend and plays at any given chance. On his new album John even went to such an extreme to write the tune "The Great Transport" while traveling from Madison to Oshkosh. Fans of John Dachik's music would recommend his song "Sweet Sentiment" written after John had watched an E! True Hollywood Story on a man who stalked a tv reporter.
